Eight years since their first conference in Malta and SiGMA is proving to be relentless in their drive towards being the hub for iGaming meetings and gatherings. Now, eight conferences into their experience, SiGMA Europe 2022 is proving to be the best one yet with over 25,000 attendees expected for the full five day frenzy of gatherings &#8211; a far cry from the original 1000 delegates that attended the Malta show of 2014.

Each nomination would invite voters to cast their open ballot with judges reviewing the tally and presenting the winners. The night began with the first nomination of Aggregator of the Year and I guess you can assume we were on the stage for this award! Our team was thrilled to be recognised throughout all of Europe for the quality service we are devoting to our aggregation platform. To Alea, it’s all about the people, the interactions with clients, the moments shared together in a conference and in our office with colleagues. It’s these interactions that fuel the quality of Alea Play. To win this award only reminds us of every day in the past year that we’ve had the chance to meet and expand our relationship with clients. Alea Defines Aggregation in Europe winning “Aggregator of the Year 2022”

All eyes on Belgrade this week as thousands of attendees are planned to fill the conference halls of Sigma Balkans and CIS with nearly 50% of those attendees holding C-Level positions representing every country in Eastern and Western Europe. Belgrade is becoming a critical point in iGaming business as it becomes the crossroad between Eastern and Western knowledge sharing. iGaming titan &#8211; SiGMA Group is well aware of this recent boom in the balkans and has locked in a conference promising grandiose entertainment, top-quality attendees, and thought-provoking panels.

So, where’s Alea fit in all of this? It’s a question we wouldn’t have answered the same way the night before the awards as opposed to after. We are thrilled to attend the conference on its own and leave our mark in a city that is quickly becoming irreplaceable in business and development for iGaming. Alea was confident to attend this sort of homecoming with its front-entrance booth located in P1 and panel discussions scheduled with our CEO &#8211; Alexandre Tomic whose heritage traces back to Serbia.



With this setup, our team was ready for a conference to be remembered setting our intention to expand eastward in clientele and strengthen the legacy friendships we’ve built in the region with over fifteen years worth of Alea’s iGaming experience.



Yet the awards, presented on the night before the conference would begin, would set the bar higher for Alea’s experience of the week as we were awarded Best Aggregator of 2022. Having been nominated amongst legends, we are both thrilled and grateful to be considered an aggregator that delivers top performance on a technical and account side. We know the world of aggreagation and must admit the platforms of our competitors are worth this award just as much and deliver top-notch service in multiple disciplines. So, we thank the voters and judges for endowing us with this title and we admit it is the culmination of a 365 days worth of product-centred development with the needs of our clients shaping this path. The night, and the conference in itself, was a homage to the products and teams that make the iGaming industry a world that never sleeps on innovation. Kalamba Makes its Debut on Alea Play

It’s been dubbed the “mother of all conferences” as Sigma unites, for the first time, four of its leading shows into one grand conference happening from November 15 to 19 in Malta. The week kicks off with the official Sigma Gaming Awards where a spectrum of awards were presented from the traditional Game Provider of the Year (presented to Stakelogic) and Online Casino of the Year (presented to Video Slots) to more contemporary recognitions like Crypto Casino of the Year (presented to TrueFlip) and Unique Selling Point of the Year (presented to Evolution).



Tuesday would be the first day of the conference where our team hosted all kinds of guests at our Booth &#8211; G24. Our VR specialist &#8211; Arnau Martinez &#8211; commends the conference for its wide variety of attendees saying the amount of people in the hall was immeasurable with company backgrounds ranging from game providers, payment solutions, and operators. The energy was vibrant and guests were happy to be attending an in-person conference after two years of majority of interactions being remote-based. As the team embraced familiar and new faces of the industry, our CEO and Founder &#8211; Alexandre Tomic pitched an audience on his views regarding compliance in a panel discussion concerning Outsourcing and its role in Optimising Compliance Processes. There were a total of five speakers with the following career backgrounds &#8211; WH Partners Law Firm, Maxima Compliance Consultancy, Consultant Regulatory Compliance, and Alea Play &#8211; game aggregator. Presenting such a contrast on stage, the audience experienced both the facts of compliance and the interests of each party &#8211; whether it was a consultancy, software provider, or law firm. Indeed there is no right answer to the balance between Compliance and business.



With this conference, Sigma has proven once again its dominance in bringing together every market and stakeholder in the iGaming world. The three-day agenda has covered four different continents &#8211; Africa, South America, North America, and Europe with cryptocurrency being felt equally prevalent among casinos, providers, and payment solutions. Alea makes its way to iGaming Next Valletta

Alea is moving offices from the classic neighbourhood of Gótico in Barcelona to the post-industrial tech hub of Poblenou,&nbsp; making our home a former factory with original brick walls and steel pillars.



The previous tenants had a simple open-space concept of the former factory with two long meeting rooms towards the end and joined tables spread throughout 200 meters worth of space. The remaining two floors were not used and still maintained the structure and relics of its factory era. Thus, the project of redesigning three floors worth of space would become the embodiment of our creativity and, in turn, help us redefine who Alea is.



Redesigning this property would start with declaring what exactly an Alea employee should be surrounded by. We are a company of well-being, believing that individual health and mental stamina is the root of motivation and performance. If you took the time to nurture your physical and mental well-being, you would, in effect, want to be better at many aspects of your life &#8211; including work.



Though it was not enough to proclaim “be better” and expect employees to find a way to do so. We wanted to bring the betterment to our employees and integrate a sense of harmony into our office design between work and health. This meant having a designated area for well-being that would include a gym section, a full kitchen equipped with all the necessary appliances to cook from work if desired, an indoor garden with access to fresh air, and a sauna.



This would all be placed on the ground floor where employees could socialise, take time to work on their physical health, retreat to a garden for moments of stillness, or be absorbed into the heat of a sauna with the advantage of major health benefits in just a few sessions. On the first floor, collaborations will unfold. This will be the main floor for all work-related content with assigned individual desks, public standing-desks, and various meeting rooms available for group moments.



We understood that open-floor, while aesthetically pleasing and symbolic of unity, does not always promote individual performance. Some can become distressed when the volume of the room increases or if there is much movement occurring. To address this, we are trying out cubicle-style desks that anyone can use. Should an employee feel more productive in this kind of desk, we will provide one for them. At this time, we are only testing with six of these cubicles and will see how each employee prefers to work.



The remaining floor is still up for discussion in regards to functionality. Though this will not be necessary to define until we move into the office and consider what else is missing as we settle in. At first, the office will be rather bare while we adapt to the new space and ‘feel out’ the needs of each employee and, piece by piece, we will add to our office and reflect this ever-adapting nature Alea demonstrates in all she does. So, stay tuned for photos as we update you on this journey of cozy-fying our new home!

Alea’s New Home

SBC Summit CIS has commenced in Kyiv, Ukraine with over fifty operators, 80 exhibitors, 500 live attendees, and several regulatory bodies from the region and outside. The summit is dedicating itself to sports betting and gaming in the CIS region with the opportunity for attendees to share insights on current and future regional endeavours.



Alea will be attending Kyiv with a booth next to the Networking Lounge for all that want to come and learn about our aggregation platform, which is currently being provided to clients in the CIS region.



With the first day complete, our Business Development Manager &#8211; Anna Ghazaryan &#8211; held a very positive remark for the interactions with such top-quality attendees and stated the following :

Alea arrives to SBC Summit CIS

Barcelona is feeling the rush of an iGaming conference for the first time in two years as SBC launches The Global Betting and iGaming Show in Fira Barcelona Montjuïc. For three days, Barcelona will host 200 gaming operators, 250 speakers, and 100 exhibitors with sponsorship provided by over 30 groups, including Alea.



Floor-plan of the conference has been divided into the following four zones &#8211; Sports Betting, Casino and Gaming, Payments and Compliance, and Affiliate, Marketing, and Media with our booth situated in Casino and Gaming just right of the entrance. Alea has also taken an active role in the discussions at SBC with our founder and CEO, Alexandre Tomic, participating in a panel discussion on customer centricity and its implications on gambling products.

Playtech has arrived to Alea Play

Welcome to the new home of Alea where we are proud to offer you a spectrum of the latest software, honest game reviews, and up to date iGaming content!This site is the result of a merge between various versions drafted on the basis of user stories and what we believed would be ‘non-negotiable’ to these site guests and their experience. But, what exactly is a website, and what does it take to create one? We’re honored to give a chronological tour on the development of this product and what it took to be able to say Alea.com is live.



Before considering any type of merge, the site passed through different checkpoints &#8211; functionality, user definition, must-haves for each user, deadline assessment, and development timeframe.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Functionality</h2>



We began by asking ourselves: what is the current Alea.com used for and what do we want it to be used for? We had a corporate website with a solid structure and contact form included. This site worked for many years serving its corporate purpose and providing us a lighthouse for who we were through all these years.



Though, Alea was making a name for itself in iGaming through panel discussions, conference attendance, and event sponsorship. And it was time to bring a sense of responsiveness to the site that would reflect the dynamic nature of our work culture.



An About Us page would no longer suffice to explain who we were and what we provided. So, we redefined the intention of our site with the following purposes : Bring the latest iGaming content with unbiased and truthful words, and present an updated portfolio of our two products &#8211; Alea Play and Virtual Reality- with full display of their capabilities.



Consequently, we created a page for each product to keep users informed on the latest features and upcoming changes. The Virtual Reality page allows users to follow our VR endeavors as we re-adapt our virtual world with the latest tech advances. The Alea Play page invites users to explore the features of our next-generation aggregator with up-to-date statistics and latest technologies being used.



Slot games have been, of course, a central character in Alea, and we wanted to give users an inexhaustible list of the three thousand games provided by Alea Play. The Games page allows users to interact with this list and search for a particular game, software, or choose to filter through software.



All games have their own page where the user can read software-provided details such as Return to Player ratio, popularity, volatility, and Max win. Users can also try the demo version of the game and read the latest review or related news.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">User-Story</h2>



The term ‘user’ has been used often in this article without much thought, but it required the most time and criticism in order to fill any “gaps” in content flow.



We defined several types of users that ranged from those who knew why they were coming to Alea.com to those that landed on our page based on a general query. Once their intention (or lack of) was defined, we considered their frequency of visits.



Would this user come once to find an answer to their question? Or could this user return weekly to find updates in the Games page list or iGaming news? With these answers, we would structure a specific website model for each user.



The intention, however, of the user was not enough for us to go by when drafting the structure of the site. We wanted a sense of flow in content and when the user found what they had searched for initially, we wanted them to flow into a new topic without giving it much thought. So, the following question was posed to each user story: “What else?“.



A simple, albeit nearly rhetorical question, that asked us to look beyond the original intention and give the user more than an answer.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Timeframe</h2>



Having planned a marketing campaign for the final quarter of the year, it was agreed that Alea.com’s debut would be the kick off to this campaign. Mid-September was then taken as a deadline with the minimum viable product prepared under the defined requirements.Admittedly, the site is just getting started in capabilities. We have a strong roadmap ahead with multiple features and content in the pipeline. So, we invite you to have a look around and ask yourself the question &#8211; What else? We’re sure you’ll leave with more than just the words in this article.
